CGP can reduce $150/MT for the PULP production cost

March 19, Beijing -- CGP (China Global Paper Holding Group) announced in Beijing, their new DMC pulp mill in Shandong China, the production cost will be reduced $150 per Metric Ton, comparing with that of the traditional ALKALINE processing. The capacity of production will be 50,000 MT per year.

The president of CGP, Cheng Xiangwu disclosed since the DMC (Digesting with Material Cleanly) technology can save 40% of the investment in production/pollution facilities, comparing with the AKALINE processing, can save 50% of the cost of raw material, save 21% of the energy, and 90% of the water can be recycled. Totally, it will be saved about RMB1,200 yuan (US$150) per MT.

At same time, their sample of the straw-based pulp, which manufactured in their pilot plant in Heibei, was approved by China Pulp and Paper Institute, that the quality of straw-based pulp meets the standard of National "A" Class traditional Alkaline Kraft manufactured pulp.

The first piece of the DMC pulp of Shandong Mill will be rolling out at the end of May, 2006. The raw material shall be straw. They have a web site www.CGPHG.com for the people who are interested in DMC technology for further study.
